Assesses, treats and care for residents with breathing disorders in accordance with the attending physician's medical orders. Initiates and conducts therapeutic procedures; monitors patient records for accurate charting. Checks and replaces equipment as deemed necessary. Must be able to use technology including computers, digital devices, and life support equipment and breathing treatment advices: nebulizers, Incentive Spirometry.and Metered dose inhalers. Must be able to work independently , making clinical decisions concerning patient care and needs. Must be able to treat all adult and elderly patients who have diseased lung. Provides temporary relief of patients with Respiratory failure, Chronic Asthma, and other breathing difficulties. Provide emergency care to patients in distress. Must be able to treat patients requiring ventilator support, oxygen use, aerosol medications, chest physiotherapy and arterial blood gasses. Must be able to attach and detach patients from mechanical ventilators.
